The honest version

Polly does surveys, pulse checks, standups, suggestion boxes, word clouds and trivia. It has anonymous responses, scheduled and recurring polls, CSV export, Google Sheets and Jira integrations, webhooks and an API. It has been around a long time and it is good at what it does.

Verdo does one thing: it takes a decision from “someone should pick” to “this is what we picked, here is who owns it, and here is whether it worked.” That means single-choice voting, a majority or consensus rule fixed before anyone votes, an optional owner, a status that outlives the vote, and a review a month later. A polling tool has no reason to carry any of that, which is exactly why it doesn't.

Use Polly when

  • You want to know how people feel — pulse surveys, retro feedback, eNPS.
  • You run team rituals: standups, icebreakers, suggestion boxes.
  • The question is a measurement, not a choice.
  • Nobody needs to be accountable for what the answers imply.

Use Verdo when

  • The question is “which one?” and someone has to own the answer.
  • You need it closed by Friday, not “whenever people get to it.”
  • You will be asked in three months why you chose what you chose.
  • You want to know whether the decision actually landed.

Frequently asked questions

Is Verdo a Polly alternative?
Not a replacement — a different tool. Polly is a survey and engagement platform: pulse checks, standups, retro feedback, suggestion boxes, word clouds. Verdo does none of that. If you need to know how your team feels, Polly is the right product and Verdo will disappoint you. If you need the team to decide something and have the decision stick, that is what Verdo is for.
What does Verdo do that Polly doesn't?
Four things, all downstream of the vote: a named owner accountable for follow-through, an authority rule fixed before voting so the result is not reinterpreted afterwards, a status model for what happened to the decision (implemented, stalled, superseded, reversed), and a 30-day outcome review asking the owner whether it worked. Polly is not missing these by oversight — a feedback tool has no reason to carry them.
Does Polly support anonymous polls?
Yes, on its paid plans, and thoroughly — responses can be anonymous even to the person who sent the poll. Anonymity is not a point of difference between the two products; Verdo has an anonymous mode too.
Can I run both in the same workspace?
Yes, and most teams that use Verdo also keep something like Polly. They answer different questions: Polly for “how was the sprint?”, Verdo for “which vendor do we go with, who owns it, and did it work?”
How does the pricing compare?
Polly prices per licence with a free tier capped by monthly responses. Verdo Pro is $49 per workspace per month whatever your headcount, with a 7-day free trial and no free tier. Per-seat pricing penalises you for including people in a decision, which is the opposite of what a decision tool should encourage.
